{ preggers }

We are having another baby!!! We found out in March that I was pregnant and waiting 4 excruciating weeks to tell our family. We wanted to wait until we had our first ultrasound to tell our family and I'm glad we did. It was fun showing them the ultrasound picture and telling them at the same time. For the next 6 weeks we told some more family and friends but didn't publicly announce it until I was safely out of my first trimester.

The little gummy bear in my tummy was pretty rough on me at first. I got the flu, then got a sinus infection and then I got food poisoning (not the baby's fault, it was my fault for allowing myself to go to AppleBees. A place I HATE going anyway, but it was the only option at the time...NEVER again.) That was the worst, on top of it all I was having morning sickness but only from about 5pm until I went to bed. It was a really different pregnancy from Berkley's so I was totally convinced that we were having a boy.

We went into the doctor when I was 16 weeks to find out what we were having. I was totally shocked that it was another girl! But so happy! Especially once we got to my in-laws to pick up some of Berkley's baby things. We had at least 7 or 8 totes full of toys, shoes, blankets, bedding, clothes and everything else you need for a newborn. We were so grateful we didn't have to go out and buy all new of most of those things.

Now we are just trying to endure my aches and pains and complaints about being hot, and being cold, and hurting, and feeling sick, and being tired, and wanting a certain food right this second, and forgetting things almost instantly. I feel sorry for the 2 people who live with me. They are being really good sports though and they both are amazing at cheering me up. So grateful for the 2 of them and our little munchkin on the way.

8 weeks

16 weeks (face and belly, she has her mouth wide open in this one.)

{ a day with abuelos }

My grandparents  moved here from Mexico a few months ago, and we are loving having them so close!! They are so sweet and I'm so grateful that Berkley gets to know them. We are especially taking advantage of Abuelita's cookings. She makes the BEST food ever!!! She taught us how to make Mexican rice and homemade corn tortillas. Berkley was so cute and helped us press the tortillas. My cousin Sarah and her son Benton came over too for the festivities!

{ the chocolate...dessert cafe }

One of my very favorite places to go here in the Orem/Provo area is The Chocolate, a dessert cafe...they have such yummy treats, and cute places to sit and chat. I had one of their lemon cupcakes today (it's what I always get), and it was AMAZING. I was in such a rush to stuff it in my face that I forgot to take a picture of it. But I did take a picture of the one I got for Matt...a double chocolate cupcake. Yummers! Berkley had one of their sugar cookies that she mutilated. Seriously...you need to go there if you live close to Orem or plan on visiting...it's a MUST!

{ photo walk }

Today I decided to take Berkley on a photo walk. Mainly just a walk with our cameras. It's not easy taking a 3 year old on a walk but we managed well enough. But we did get some cute pictures. The first 2 are ones that Berkley got with her little camera. I'm so proud of the little princess.

{ happy birthday }

So I did a post about Berkley's party but not about her actual birthday! She's 3 now in case you didn't know. And she is pretty much the  coolest kid ever. We have so much fun together, and she just cracks me up all the time. Of course she has her moments, but I think that comes with being a toddler...and a girl. I took her out the day of her birthday and got a few cute pictures of her. For those of you who see lots of pictures of Berkley, don't be deceived. It takes a  huge effort to get her to even look at the camera...let alone look and smile.

{ snow day }

I LOVE days where I don't have to go to work, and I can just sit in my house and watch the snow falling out the window. It's the best! What makes it better is seeing how happy Berkley is in the snow. She is a huge fan.

{ berkley's paris party }

Berkley turned 3! Yes, I know...it's unbelievable that I have a 3 year old. I got a little nervous when it got closer to her little party, because she kept telling me that she wanted a princess cake. I had already had this all planned out, but didn't want to disappoint her at all, so on her actual birthday I got her an Ariel cake, and then proceeded to go forth with her Paris themed party...and as far as I know, she had a great time. So in my mind it was a success. We really did have so much fun! And I'm so thankful for all the family that was there. Here are some of things that we did.

{ storytelling }

The BYU Bookstore has a storytelling time each Wednesday, and today was the first time that Berkley and I went. My friend Angela came too, with her two little boys. Taking toddlers to a crowded college campus isn't easy, but we had so much fun and were able to have a little lunch there. The kids were so good, and had so much fun. On our way out the building we saw a dance class taking place, so we stopped and watched them, and danced a little ourselves. We will definitely be going back.

This is Eson! Such a sweet boy!

Berkely making some kind of face. Don't know what exactly.

Anita was reading about a monkey and a crocodile.

The Princess and the Pig

Antonio was the monkey and Berkley was the crocodile. She's trying to eat the monkey!

{ festival of colors }

On Saturday we went with some family to the Festival of Colors. It was SO much fun. The Krishna Temple is about 10 minutes from our home here in Spanish Fork, UT. The festival of colors is a Hindu holiday welcoming Spring. We got there about 30 minutes before the first chalk throwing and there were hundreds and hundreds of people there already! At 11am we had a countdown and on 1 everyone threw an INSANE amount of chalk up in the air. I could barely breath for about 60 seconds. But we had so much fun. We are so excited to go again next year.
